ZERT Coffee & ChaosHello everyone and welcome back to This Week in Guns, brought to you by Patriot Patch Company and Primary Arms. This show offers commentary on the latest firearms industry news, information and buzz. I’m your host Matthew Larosiere and I’m here with my co-host Shawn Herrin.
There was a shooting in California, involving no police officers, and nobody wearing body armor, that left two dead. However, it involved a Five-seveN, which has authorities “alarmed.” “When you get this type of a firearm, it really raises everybody’s antenna of concern and fear,” said San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe about the pistol.
The office of the Solicitor General filed an amicus brief in Caniglia v. Strom, which involves police officers entering a man’s home and seizing his arms during a wellness check. The lower courts in that case decided the matter on grounds of the “community caretaker” exception, but now the SG’s office is arguing that the officers should be protected under qualified immunity. This comes amidst several states taking action to curb this loathsome doctrine, including Colorado, Connecticut, and most recently, New Mexico.
Despite extreme gun control, San Diego is one of many cities in California that has experienced an increase in violent crime, with shootings up 30 percent in 2020. On Wednesday, city officials announced a plan to reduce gun-related violence; a new program called “No Shots Fired” that hopes to broker a peace deal between warring gangs on the city’s streets.
Anschütz is THE name in biathlon shooting, and they’ve come up with a wild new straight-pull action incorporating a highly customizable 3d-printed chassis.
Some twitter posts have surfaced of clinicians working alongside the moms to suss out gun owners.
I don’t even have words for this one.
Our friend Othais McArthy did a video a while back on his highly custified S2K, and now it’s being picked up aggressively. Just what’s so wild about it?
